Program Support Officer, HealthPathways

  • Opportunity to work as a Program Support Officer with the HealthPathways Melbourne team, bringing your strong administrative and stakeholder support skills to a role that contributes to meaningful, real-world improvements in healthcare access and outcomes.
  • Full Time (1.0 FTE), Maximum Term role until 30 June 2027.
  • Remuneration: Band 2 - $64,462.86 - $73,325.34 + 12% superannuation
  • Generous NFP salary packaging options up to $18,550.
  • Location - 737 Bourke Street, Docklands Victoria 3008, Close to Southern Cross Train Station, Onsite or Hybrid; WFH (2-3 days).

About the role

Join a passionate, purpose-driven team, working to strengthen primary care across Melbourne. The HealthPathways Melbourne team is dedicated to supporting integrated, person-centred care that is accessible, safe, coordinated and responsive to community needs.

As the Program Support Officer, you'll play an important role in supporting the HealthPathways team's activities and projects. You'll help coordinate key initiatives and provide essential administrative support that enables the team to deliver an impactful clinical referral pathways programs.

About Us

We are North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network (NWMPHN) - Victoria's largest independent, locally governed and run, not-for-profit PHN, dedicated to improving primary health care in Melbourne's northern, western suburbs and inner-city areas. What will my typical week look like?

  • Supporting the coordination and delivery of HealthPathways Melbourne projects and workplan priorities, including pathway development.
  • Providing end-to-end administrative and governance support, including meetings, documentation, reporting, and maintaining systems (e.g. CMS, SharePoint, Salesforce)
  • Managing enquiries and shared communication channels, including inbox triage and feedback portals.
  • Supporting stakeholder engagement and communications, including publications, campaigns, and liaison with internal teams and external partners.
  • Contributing to reporting, monitoring and evaluation activities, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintaining key resources such as stakeholder databases and the Dementia Directory, while providing flexible support across teams as needed.

About you:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, business administration, public health, health promotion, project management, social science, or other related health fields.
  • Proven ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, team-focused environment.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly organised, with strong administrative skills and proficiency across Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other systems.
  • Flexible and willing to undertake occasional offsite travel as required.

Desirable:

  • Awareness of the Australian health system and current policy priorities.
  • Experience using communication tools, including social media and content management systems.
  • Understanding of project management methodologies and evaluation approaches.
  • Knowledge of project change management and/or quality improvement practices in the health sector.
  • Experience working in cross-sector or multi-stakeholder environments.
