Program Officer, HealthPathways

  • Opportunity to work as a Program Officer with HealthPathways Melbourne team, using your stakeholder engagement and project management skills to make a real impact on healthcare access and outcomes across the community.
  • Full Time (1.0 FTE), Maximum Term role until 30 June 2027.
  • Remuneration: Band 3 - $73,605.21 - $88,997.93+ 12% superannuation
  • Generous NFP salary packaging options up to $18,550.
  • Location - 737 Bourke Street, Docklands Victoria 3008, Close to Southern Cross Train Station, Onsite or Hybrid; WFH (2-3 days)

About the role

Reporting to the Manager, HealthPathways Melbourne, this dynamic Program Officer role offers the opportunity to help shape and strengthen how healthcare is delivered across the community. You'll work closely with GP clinical editors and a broad network of stakeholders to develop and enhance clinical referral pathways, ensuring they remain practical, relevant, and responsive to local needs.

From coordinating Clinical Working Groups to managing content and feedback processes, you'll play a key role in bringing clinical expertise and system collaboration together. This is an ideal role for a proactive professional who enjoys stakeholder engagement and project coordination, and wants to make a tangible impact on patient care and access to services.

We are North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network (NWMPHN) - Victoria's largest independent, locally governed and run, not-for-profit PHN, dedicated to improving primary health care in Melbourne's northern, western suburbs and inner-city areas. What will my typical week look like?

  • Coordinating and tracking HealthPathways projects, maintaining plans, timelines, and identifying risks and solutions.
  • Gathering and updating local service provider information to keep pathways accurate and relevant.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to map services and identify gaps in care.
  • Supporting commissioning activities, including working with providers to ensure services are evidence-based and person-centred.
  • Coordinating Clinical Working Groups and supporting stakeholder meetings.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with GP editors, clinicians, and service providers.
  • Liaising with stakeholders and contributing to communication and engagement activities.
  • Monitoring program performance and preparing reports to support delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness and reach of the HealthPathways Program.

Key resources:

About you:

  • Tertiary qualifications in project management, health service management, public administration, clinical studies, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of the Victorian health system, particularly across primary care.
  • Experience applying project management principles, including planning, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships across diverse groups.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, high-quality reports.
  • A proactive, organised approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
  • Flexible and willing to undertake occasional offsite travel as required.
