Lead, Statewide Primary Care Commissioning

  • Use your stakeholder management expertise and project management skills to coordinate the statewide operations of Urgent Care Centers through Victorian Primary Health Networks.
  • Full time (1.0 FTE), Maximum Term role until 30 June 2026. (Part-time arrangements genuinely considered)
  • Remuneration: $89,184.51 - $111,200.77 + 12% superannuation + generous NFP salary packaging options up to $18,550.
  • Location - 737 Bourke Street, Docklands Victoria 3008, Close to Southern Cross Train Station, Onsite or Hybrid; WFH (2-3 days)

Short description about the role

Reporting to the Executive Director Health Systems Integration, the Lead, Statewide Primary Care Commissioning will be part of the Health System Integration team, leading the Urgent Care Centre program, and leading the engagement with State Government and the Victorian health care system.

The lead will require collaborative engagement with Victorian PHNs, the Victorian Tasmanian PHN Alliance, the Victorian Department of Health and the statewide data lead for the program.

You will be responsible for monitoring and evaluation, coordination of activities across PHNs, driving innovation and supporting quality improvement through a statewide Community of Practice.

What will my typical week look like?

  • Project management to lead and implement implementation and monitoring of Urgent Care Centres across Victoria
  • Collaborate with key external stakeholders including other PHNs, hospital networks, primary health care and the Victorian Department of Health
  • Coordinate and lead knowledge management activities, such as the Communities of Practice for UCCs across Victoria, with an emphasis of innovation and quality improvement
  • Develop key procedural and project documentation, including program guidance materials
  • Maintain high performing working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, to deliver outcomes within commissioned services and programs

About you:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a health, allied health, social science or related field relevant to the position, formal project management qualifications and experience are desirable
  • Understanding of the Australian primary health care system including the intersections between primary and tertiary care, the role of the State and Commonwealth and the role of PHNs as commissioners
  • Confidence and experience interacting with external stakeholders and bringing multiple sectors together to ensure patient safety and quality of care
  • High project management and report writing skills, ability to work autonomously, along with; experience in hospital, primary care, urgent/emergency care setting
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and an ability to form effective professional relationships and networks with a broad range of stakeholders across all levels.
