Procurement Officer (Graduates Welcome)

• Remuneration: Band 1 - $57,111.71 - $64,014.23 + 12% superannuation + generous NFP salary packaging options up to $18,550
• Full-time (1.0 FTE) Permanent role
• Dockland office location - Hybrid; WFH (2-3 days)

You will be part of the Procurement team within the Systems Directorate, working closely with business units and stakeholders to support procurement activities, contracts management, and reporting to ensure effective service delivery and compliance.

This role is ideal for a recent graduate who wants to build practical skills in procurement, contracts, analytics, and project management, with strong growth pathways to advance your public sector career.

We are North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network (NWMPHN), Victoria's largest independent, locally governed and run, not-for-profit PHN, dedicated to improving primary health care in Melbourne's northern, western and inner-city areas. We help people stay well by commissioning health services to deliver better and more accessible primary care.

What will my typical week look like?

• Assisting with procurement and contract management activities, including preparing documentation, contract variations, and tender evaluation reports.
• Supporting internal project leads to define procurement objectives, timelines, and market approaches.
• Developing and maintaining reports and dashboards (Excel, Power BI) that provide insightful analytics for executive decision-making.
• Maintaining accurate records in the Contract Management System and supporting compliance with audit requirements.
• Engaging with stakeholders to support procurement workshops, communications, and continuous improvement initiatives.

About you

• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Law, Commerce, Project Management, or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with intermediate proficiency in Excel and confidence to learn Power BI.
• Understanding of contracts theory and willingness to build practical procurement knowledge.
• A self-starter who shows initiative and is comfortable multi-tasking in a dynamic environment.
• Confident communicator who enjoys working within a small, supportive team and engaging stakeholders professionally.
• Adaptable, proactive and willing to approach tasks with a can-do attitude.
